Tools Stolen, Tires Slashed During Burglary At Iron City Shop
Burglars entered a shop building in the Iron City area late last week, stealing several items and slashing tires.
The victim reported Friday to deputies with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department that the burglary had occurred sometime between 10:00 p.m. May 14 and 10:00 a.m. May 15 at his building on South Walnut Street.
The victim said that he had left the shop door open because it had been raining. He said he returned to find that someone had entered, stealing a box of various Cratsman tools, a number of drills, and a Poulan chainsaw. In addition, three tires had been cut on a truck left inside the shop.
The victim said that his brother had been visiting from out of state and left his truck at the shop. He said that bothrear tires had been slashed along with the spare tire, located underneath the truck.
Loss and damages in the case are estimated to total $1,370. Anyone who has information pertinent to the investigation is encouraged to contact the sheriff’s department at 931-762-3626.
