Burglars Target Leoma Home
Burglars targeted a Leoma home late last week while the residents were away for a brief period of time.
Reports filed through the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department show that deputies were dispatched to the Kylewood Road home at around 7:20 p.m. Friday.
A step ladder had been taken from the back yard and placed against the vinyl siding next to a window on the southeast corner of the home. An object was then used to pry the screen from the window, resulting in damage.
While gaining entry through the window the perpetrators knocked a small lamp from the nightstand, breaking it.
Although nothing appeared to be missing, residents estimated some $100 worth of damage.
When they left, the culprits replaced the window screen, but left the ladder leaning against the house.
Investigation in the crime is currently on-going.
