Lawrenceburg Rotarians conducted reverse road block over the weekend.

Many residents have seen roadblocks on a Saturday morning to raise money for different organizations in the community ball teams, school, and other civic groups.

On this morning though Lawrenceburg Rotary Club flipped the script by conducting a “Reverse Roadblock” that focused on giving instead of asking.

The project is part of the Lawrenceburg Rotary Club’s ongoing “Random Acts of Kindness” initiative where they distributed free $10 gift cards from Wendy’s and McDonald’s to motorists who stopped.

The Lawrenceburg Rotary Club purchased 100 gift cards from each restaurant, and both Wendy’s and McDonald’s matched the effort with an additional 100 cards each, doubling the impact of the project.

Drivers were pleasantly surprised when they were handed free gift cards rather than requesting donations. Many recipients expressed appreciation for the unexpected act of kindness and generosity.

Let's all strive to be more like Jesus with kindness and how we love and treat others

This may look different for others in the community in how we serve whether it be donating your time, money, volunteering, inviting someone to church, sharing the gospel, and that can even be being kind at the grocery store just a smiling face that walks past them.

Colossians 3:12: "Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience."

Ephesians 4:32: "Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you."
