Facebook Harassment Under Investigation
A resident reported to law enforcement officers Wednesday that she was being harassed through Facebook and telephone calls.
The victim, age 52, reported to deputies with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department that the matter began when she refused to rent an apartment to a woman. She said that the woman began to post harassing and slanderous statements about her.
In addition, she said she had received numerous threatening telephone calls. She said that she believes the woman has been having other individuals call her.
The deputy advised the victim of the process she would need to go through to seek legal action in the matter.
