COLBERT COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) — A search is underway for a man who is considered armed and dangerous after a convenience store robbery in Colbert County.
The Colbert County Sheriff’s Office said that deputies responded to a robbery at a convenience store located at the intersection of Highway 247 and Highway 72 on Thursday around 4:30 a.m.
Upon arrival, deputies were told that a white male came into the store with a handgun and left the store with an unknown amount of money.
Shortly after, deputies encountered a truck approximately one-half mile from the store. Colbert County authorities told News 19 that the truck had a white female and a white male inside the vehicle. CCSO identified the male as Cody Edward Collins.
CCSO said that Collins left the area and is considered armed and dangerous. He was last seen wearing black and red basketball shorts with white tennis shoes.
