Child dies after falling from apartment window: MNPD

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Metro police are investigating the death of a child who reportedly fell several stories from an apartment in Madison.

Officers responded to the incident at approximately 8:40 p.m. Tuesday at 200 Webster Apartments on East Webster Street.

Metro police said the person who called emergency services found the child outside on the ground after the child fell approximately 81 feet from the apartment unit. The child was taken to an area hospital, where they were pronounced deceased.

Officers on the scene told News 2 the child was six years old and is believed to have fallen from the balcony. Investigators later said the child fell from a window.Investigators are still working to determine the circumstances leading up to the incident.
