Thieves Target Cemetery Flowers
Flowers at a local cemetery are the focus of an investigation undertaken through the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department Tuesday.
Lanning Road resident Karen Hagan Frazier summoned deputies to Gum Springs Cemetery around 7:00 p.m. Sunday to report the theft.
She indicated she had placed artificial floral arrangements on family graves in the cemetery on Mother’s Day. When she returned around 11:30 Tuesday morning, she discovered the arrangements had been stolen.
The value of the flowers was estimated at $60.00. The matter currently remains under investigation by detectives with the department’s Criminal Investigation Division.
