Lawrence County Firefighters were dispatched to a structure fire Thursday morning with entrapment that tragically turned fatal.

 

Lawrence County Fire and Rescue released the following information and photo:

For Immediate Release:
Subject: Fatal Structure Fire

At approximately 7:46 AM Lawrence County Fire Rescue Units were dispatched to a residential structure fire with possible entrapment in the New Prospect Fire District.

A multi agency response was initiated. First arriving units found a heavily involved structure fire with occupants trapped inside.

An aggressive interior attack along with coordinated search was launched. Despite our best efforts the fire has been deemed fatal. Units remain on the scene.

The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation."
