A Lawrence County High School teacher has resigned after allegations of misconduct led to her suspension.

According to the Lawrence County School System High School Teacher, Christen Pilkinton, was suspended without compensation after the central office received allegations of misconduct where Pilkinton then resigned from her position.

The allegations of misconduct are currently under investigation, according to the school system who spoke with WSMV4.

The school system said the following in their statement:

“An allegation of misconduct was reported to the Central Office. Employee was immediately suspended without compensation. The employee has since resigned. The matter is under investigation by appropriate agencies. LCSS has no further comment,”
