Phillip Heatherly received 1,414 votes, or ~42%, with David Morgan receiving 1,892 votes, or ~57%, winning the Republican primary for County Executive. David Morgan will face Independent candidate Shane Eaton on August 6th in the General Election.

The race for District 5 County Commission ended with Blake Grooms defeating John D. Bradley, 151 votes to 101 votes. Blake Grooms will face Independent candidate Jaden Williams on August 6th in the General Election.

Sandy Newton won the County Commission District 14 race over Steven Brazier after receiving 125 votes to Brazier’s 69 votes. Sandy Newton will advance to the General Election to face Independent candidate Cam Benefield.

As far as uncontested races go, incumbent Sheriff John Myers received 2,452 votes for sheriff and will face Independent candidates Chris Hannah and Gary Mills in the General Election in August. Tommy Lee Kidd received 2,788 votes for Circuit Court Clerk, while Russ Brewer received 2,695 votes for County Clerk.

School board winners included John Daniel, who received 230 votes in District 5, and Corey Rochelle, who received 312 votes in District 6.

Jerod Menz received 631 votes in the Republican primary for Constable in the Middle District and is expected to face Independent candidate Jeremy Rochelle in the General Election.
