Proposed Law Enforcement Firearms Training

Beginning May 21th, 2021 at 8am
As most Lawrence County citizens already know, I’m a big believer in the 2nd Amendment and our right to carry. With that being said, I’m also a big believer in training and that every armed citizen should be proficiently trained with the hand gun that they intend to carry. With the Constitutional Carry Law going into effect July 1, the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office will be hosting a free hand gun training course on the last Saturday of each month to all Lawrence County citizens at the FOP Firearms Range located in Lawrenceburg TN. The training will most likely include handgun safety, weapon retention, basic fundamentals of marksmanship, shoot/don’t shoot scenarios and legal updates. All training will be conducted by State Certified law enforcement firearms instructors. Applicants will be required to sign a liability release waiver upon arriving at the range.
Things to bring:
1. Handgun w/Holster
2. 50 rds of ammunition
3. Eye protection
4. Hearing protection
Applicants can sign up on a roster located at the front desk at the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office.
