Woman Alleges She Was Chased With Chain Saw During Assault Incident

A Lawrenceburg woman reported to authorities that her ex-husband had flung knives at her, and her son had chased her with a chain saw during a domestic altercation at their Adkins Lane home Wednesday afternoon.

The victim, age 37, reported the incident to Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputies around 5:30 p.m. She stated that she and her ex-husband had become involved in an argument that afternoon, when he began “throwing knives at her.” She stated that during the fracas, her son, age 18, began to chase her with a chain saw. Two witnesses supported the victim’s claims.

Deputies spoke with both the ex-husband and the son, and were told a different story. The ex-husband told deputies that the victim had “destroyed the house and started a fight.” Deputies noted that the man “was under the influence of alcohol,” at the time.

The son told deputies that he had been cutting wood at the time, but that he had not chased her with his chain saw.

Another witness gave information regarding the altercation. He told deputies that the fight had been initiated by the victim, and that “no one was assaulted and no one was chased with a chain saw.”

Deputies reported they were unable to identify a primary aggressor in the case, and that no one had sustained any visible injuries. No charges were filed at the time reports were filed.
