The Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development has announced that Lawrence County is one of three counties selected to participate in the latest round of the Select Tennessee Property Evaluation Program.

Jackson and Jefferson counties were also selected.

The program evaluates potential industrial properties and provides guidance on site improvements and development opportunities to help communities attract new business and job growth.

Officials say the program includes site visits, educational resources, and a comprehensive assessment of each county’s industrial property inventory, along with recommendations to improve marketability.

Since the program began in 2015, more than 500 sites across Tennessee have been reviewed.

State officials say the initiative is designed to help communities prepare shovel-ready sites and strengthen their position in the site selection process for future economic development.
