Shoplifter Draws Attention Hitting Same Store Three Times Saturday

A criminal investigation was begun on Saturday after Walmart store officials noticed that a shoplifter had made three trips through the store in less than an hour.

Associates with the local store’s Asset Protection Department requested that an investigation be initiated through the Lawrenceburg Police Department. They told officers that they had video evidence documenting the crimes.

Reports indicate the woman first entered the store at 1:01 p.m. She walked to the hardware section and proceeded to conceal in her jacket seven pairs of ten-inch pliers, a nine piece hex set, and a Ready Ratchet.

She then walked to the automotive section where she selected a set of floor mats. She then proceeded to the checkout area where she paid only for the floor mats, then exited.

At 1:25 p.m. the woman entered the store a second time and walked to the automotive department. There she got a second set of floor mats and three small, unidentified items. She passed through the checkout, paying only for the three small items, then exited again.

She entered a third time at 1:48 p.m. This time surveillance video shows that she brought a set of car mats and a receipt in, walked to the Service Desk, and obtained a cash refund of $27.31.

Authorities said the video clearly shows the woman opening packages and concealing items. She gave information and signed a receipt in order to obtain the refund and authorities are now working to locate her.
