Owner Says Boat Title Was Illegally Transferred
Law enforcement officials were asked to intervene on Wednesday after a local man reported the title to his grandfather’s boat had been illegally transferred.
The man reported that his grandfather, a seventy-five-year-old resident of Mt. Lebanon Road, had sold the motor on his boat to a Glenn Springs Road man. He said that the man came to his grandfather’s home on Monday to pick up the boat so that he could take it to his house and remove the motor from the boat.
The owner alleges that the man, instead, took the title from the glove box on the boat, forged his name, then registered it in his own name.
The boat is a 19 foot Wildfire Pro 175 valued at $1,500. The matter has currently been handed over for investigation by detectives with the department’s Criminal Investigation Division.
