Resident Robbed While Out Of The Country
An Ethridge resident returned to his home after a trip out of the country last week only to find that his home had been burglarized.
The victim, age 51, told Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputies Saturday morning that he had been in China for a week. He returned to find that someone had apparently crawled through a bedroom window and stole several of his belongings.
Taken was $375 worth of old money stored in bags, DVDs, CDs, a silver Nikon 2000 digital camera, a green LCHS class ring bearing the initials “JTB” inside, and a figurine of old men smoking pipes. Total loss was estimated at $6,150.00.
The matter has been turned over to detectives with the department’s Criminal Investigation Division for further inspection.
