Today, April 22, Lawrence County Executive David Morgan officially signed a proclamation declaring Drug Endangered Children Awareness Day in Lawrence County.

Executive Morgan was joined by the Lawrence County Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition—including Director Trea Dunnavant, Assistant Director/TADEC Coordinator Nicole Miller, their dedicated staff, Juvenile Magistrate Ashley Dunkin, and others—for this meaningful moment of awareness and commitment to protecting our children.

The TADEC initiative in Lawrence County was one of six programs in the state selected to receive grant funding in 2020. It is also part of a 15-county collaborative team and included in the first cohort, all working together under the National Alliance for Drug Endangered Children.

This proclamation is an important step in continuing to raise awareness, strengthen partnerships, and support efforts to protect vulnerable children across our community. #DECAwarenessDay
