Second Courthouse Bomb Threat Deemed Hoax
A second threat in a month regarding a bomb at the Lawrence County Courthouse was deemed a hoax in the wake of an investigation Thursday.
Officials say that the culprit placed two calls to WLX Radio Station around 11:55 a.m. He said nothing during the first call, however when he called the second time he said, “There’s a bomb at the courthouse,” then hung up.
The call is the second such received during the past month. The first was placed to radio station WDXE on Thursday, March 24. A thorough investigation into the matter proved that the call was nothing more than a ruse.
Officials were able to obtain possible identifying information Thursday and expect that an arrest may result from the investigation. At press time, however, no arrest had yet been made.
Anyone having information in this matter is urged to contact Lawrence County Sheriff Department at 931-762-3626.
