Altercation Sparked By Trampoline
Lawrenceburg Police Officers were summoned to intervene last week when individuals became involved in an altercation sparked by youngsters jumping on a trampoline.
Officers were dispatched to a home on Depot Street where they spoke with the adult residents. The male resident explained that his neighbor’s brother-in-law had been visiting and had left the residence, squealing tires and traveling at an excessive speed, after they had been involved in a verbal altercation.
The resident reported that the man had walked outside and threatened to spank his children with a belt because they were jumping on the neighbor’s trampoline without permission.
He stated that he quickly went outside to intervene and that he and the man became involved in a verbal altercation. During the altercation, the resident said the man obtained a jack handle and threatened him with it, then spat in his girlfriend’s face.
Officers report the brother-in-law was gone upon their arrival. The matter has been turned over for further review by detectives with the department’s Criminal Investigation Division.
