Subject: Fatal House Fire

Shortly after 2PM today Lawrence County E-911 dispatched Lawrence County Fire Rescue units to a residential fire alarm activation at 27 Dobbins Road in the South East Fire District.Minutes later our responding units were advised by dispatch that they had received a second call from someone on the scene confirming that the residence was fully involved with fire and that family members on the scene were attempting to rescue a bed bound patient that was trapped inside the home.

First arriving units confirmed a fully involved wind driven fire in an approximately 3,000 square split level residence. Units also confirmed that there were three vehicles on fire at the residence. Our personnel utilized hand-lines and master streams to knock down the fire while rescue attempts were made. Firefighters were able to locate the victim. It is with deep regret that we confirm that the victim did not survive the fire.

Due to low manpower and no credible fire hydrants in the area, additional resources were requested to the scene to assist with rescue and suppression efforts. During this incident LCFR units were simultaneously managing a motor vehicle crash with injuries, and a high priority medical call in the County.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is on the scene working with our personnel to determine the origin, and cause of the fire. The Lawrenceburg Fire Department drone team is also on the scene assisting with the investigation. Any questions or concerns about the fire investigation should be directed to the TBI Criminal Investigation Division Fire Investigation Unit.
