Public Invited To Solid Waste Services Open House
Did you ever wonder what happens to your household’s garbage and recycling after it leaves your hands?
Lawrence County residents can get a first-hand look at the operations of the local solid waste and recycling operation at an upcoming open house event
Lawrence County Solid Waste Services will host an Open House on Saturday, May 1 from 8 until 11:30 a.m. The public is cordially invited to visit the center, located on Baler Drive in Lawrenceburg, during the event.
Visitors will be able to see the inner workings of the solid waste transfer station and warehouses along with demonstrations on the county’s successful recycling operation. The public will also have a chance to shred any unwanted personal papers by using the center’s shredding machine.
Group tours for scout troops, student groups, and other organizations are encouraged during the open house. For scheduling of tours or additional information, please call Solid Waste Services at 766-4469.
