The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department responded to 1,118 calls for service during March, according to newly released statistics.


The report shows 287 total arrests and 196 traffic stops, along with 17 crashes investigated during the month.

Among specific call types, deputies responded to 33 domestic violence incidents, 16 thefts, nine vandalism cases, and 30 burglar alarm calls. There were also 12 fraud cases and five suicide attempts or threats reported.

Officers handled 74 animal-related calls and 40 calls involving suspicious persons or activity, along with 19 motorist assists.

Additional activity included 255 civil processes served, 19 funeral escorts, and 18 mental health transports.

Officials reported no SWAT or taser deployments during the month.
