Local authorities are investigating a shooting that occured Tuesday night near the Summit of Lawrenceburg.

 

According to reports City Police Officers along with the Lawrence County Sheriff's Department, Lawrence County EMS, Lawrenceburg Fire Department, and Box 50 responder services all were dispatched to the scene of a shooting that took place on Tuesday night.

The incident occured just after 8:00 p.m. where a shooting was reported near the Summit of Lawrenceburg located on Prosser Road which resulted in Southern Tennessee Regional Hospital being placed on lock down as a precaution due it's proximity to the scene.

At the time of the incident atleast one person was transported to the local hospital in critical condition from a gunshot wound, but since then information has been released on Wednesday indicating that one person died as a result of the shooting.

The staff at the Summit of Lawrenceburg reported that all the residents at the facility were safe, and in good condition.

No further details including suspect or victim information has been released at this time.
