Cemetery Vandalized
Authorities were notified Monday that a local cemetery had fallen victim to vandalism.
An individual hired to mow the grass at Union Hill Cemetery in Leoma notified cemetery officials about the crime. They, in turn, notified deputies with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department.
Reports show that several flower vases had been broken, resulting around $500 in damages. Deputies noted that it appeared that the vases had been kicked over before being broken. No additional damages were found.
Investigation in the case is currently on-going. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the sheriff’s department at 931-762-3626.
