Officers Look Into Vehicle Burglary Spree
Officers with the Lawrenceburg Police Department were dispatched several times overnight Tuesday to investigate a string of vehicle burglaries.
Shortly before 2:00 a.m. Wednesday officers were dispatched to a home on Cecil Street where the resident reported two vehicles had been burglarized.
Reports indicate that burglars entered a 1998 Honda Civic and a 2001 GMC Yukon, taking papers and change, and damaged a compact disc player in an apparent theft attempt. Losses were estimated to total $605.
At 6:10 a.m. officers were dispatched to a home on Victor Street. The resident there reported burglars had entered his 1998 GMC Sierra. Nothing appeared to be missing from the vehicle, however the culprit had left behind a single glove. The glove was described as a right hand, camouflage, Remington glove.
In the third such incident officers were summoned to a home on Springer Road. The resident indicated someone had burglarized her 1998 Chevrolet Cavalier. Taken were papers and a duffle bag that contained a stethoscope, exercise ball and exercise bands, valued at $80.
The cases have been assigned to detectives with the department’s Criminal Investigation Division for continued investigation. Anyone who has information regarding the crimes should contact the department at 762-2276.
