Join us for the 2025 State of the County
The Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce does incredible work.
Our Chamber is 75 years old, and the young folks at its helm are very different from the group of middle-aged men who founded it. Still, today’s Chamber and the Chamber of 1949 shared the goal of making Lawrence County better.
On Wednesday, April 16, you are invited to one of the newest Chamber events. The second annual State of the County will feature speakers including myself talking about schools, economic development, health care, roads, city and county government, and more.
State of the County 2025 will be held at the historic Crockett Theatre from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Attendees are encouraged to register at LawCoTN.com, but there is no charge, thanks to event sponsors.
The morning includes a graduation celebration for 2024-25 adult and youth Leadership Lawrence classes. For over 30 years, this Chamber program has helped participants develop leadership skills and gain a better understanding of our community. It’s appropriate to recognize up-and-coming leaders at an event designed to examine where this community is and where it’s going.
Our Chamber continues to add work to what already looks like a full plate. They are also reimagining traditional events, like last Tuesday’s Women at Work Luncheon, which got its start as “Secretary’s Day” in 1982. This year’s version was awesome in every way.
The Chamber began as a membership organization that promoted local businesses. It is still that, but over the years added economic development, workforce development, and tourism to its list of responsibilities. Each area includes its own schedule of programs, events, and services.
If you own a business, I encourage you to join the Chamber of Commerce. If you live in Lawrence County, follow them on social media and watch news outlets for information about Chamber-sponsored events and programs. Join us at the 2025 State of the County to learn more about your community and its bright future.
