The Saint Joseph Police Department conducted a traffic stop that resulted in officers seizing narcotics, a shotgun, cash, and a Dodge Ram truck.

Officers with the Saint Joseph Police Department conducted a traffic stop in the area of Yocum Lane where the driver of the vehicle identified as Mike Wright was operating the vehicle on a suspended license out of Alabama.

Wright told police that he did not know who the truck belonged to, but was simply moving it for a friend where officers called in Lawrence County Sheriff's K9 unit.

K9 Stryker was deployed where he alerted officers to the presence of narcotics inside the 2008 Dodge Ram truck where a search resulted in the discovery of a backpack located in the passenger seat containing a clear bag with one gram of Methamphetamine, approximately 2.5 grams of Marijuana, a pipe used to conceal Methamphetamine, a wallet with a driver's license belonging to Kelly Pettus, as well as $618, and a Mossberg Shotgun was also located in the truck.

All items were seized along with the 2008 Dodge Ram truck where the driver, Wright, was cited for seatbelt law, driving on a revoked license, failure to provide proof of registration, and failure to provide proof of insurance.

Charges of a possession of a controlled substance schedule I for resale, possession of a controlled substance schedule II for resale, possession of a controlled substance schedule VI, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a weapon during the commission of a felony will be sought against Mike White, and Kelly Pettus of Alabama.
