On Wednesday, Trooper Michael Kilpatrick initiated a traffic stop that led to a drug possession arrest on Interstate 40 eastbound in Hickman County.

Kilpatrick, the Tennessee Highway Patrol’s Lawrenceburg Interdiction Plus (IP) Team Leader, was assisted by IP Trooper Phillip Long.

At approximately 6:20 p.m. (CST), Trooper Kilpatrick pulled over a 2009 Honda Civic bearing Texas registration at the 159 mile marker on I-40 eastbound for following too close.

Trooper Kilpatrick made contact with the 29-year old driver, Monique L. Moore of Covington, Ga., and immediately noticed signs of suspicious activity. After requesting assistance from Trooper Long, the officers requested and were denied consent to search the vehicle.

With the assistance of Trooper Kilpatrick’s drug detection K-9, positive alerts were received on the vehicle. A subsequent investigation led to the discovery of two large bundles of marijuana, weighing approximately 55 pounds.

 

Moore was arrested and transported to the Hickman County Jail. She was charged with possession of schedule VI with intent to manufacture, sale or deliver. Her bond is listed at $25,000. A photo of the suspect can be obtained from the Hickman County Sheriff’s Department.
