Hughes Announces Candidacy For County Commissioner 15th District

I, Jeff Hughes, CGFM, CFE, MBA would like to announce my candidacy for County Commissioner 15th District. The 15th district serves the West Point Rd/Hwy 64 area around David Crockett Elem School

. I was born and raised in Lawrence County and my parents are Selena Jackson and Mike Hughes. I am married to Jenifer (Torrey) Hughes and have three children - Cayden, Jayse, & Laia.

I recently received my Certified Government Financial Manager certification and also have a Certified Fraud Examiner certification. I completed my Master's in Business Administration from UNA in 2008 and my BBA with honors in Accounting and Human Resource Management from UNA in 2005. I have over 8 years of government accounting experience.

I am looking forward to working with the citizens of my district to help move Lawrence County forward! My focuses are on progress, low taxes, education, and accountability. It's time to get engaged and show everyone what Lawrence County has to offer!

I currently serve on the Lawrence County TN Audit Committee; Lawrenceburg Cal Ripken Baseball Board, Secretary; State of Tennessee State Employee Insurance Committee; State of Tennessee Insurance Audit Committee; Obesity Action Coalition; Lawrence County Fire & Rescue Board; Nashville Association of Government Accountants (various committees); Association of Certified Fraud Examiners; A Kid’s Place Child Advocacy Center, Board Member; & Crossroads Volunteer Fire Department.
