Metro Nashville Police detectives seized more than 200 lbs. of methamphetamine during a traffic stop on Sunday.

The discovery happened after police pulled over a black Chrysler Pacifica that was allegedly speeding, following too closely and not using its turn signal properly. In the vehicle, detectives met driver Montay Batey, 27, and passenger Monterry Batey, 33.
Detectives immediately noticed the duo acting suspiciously.Police papers say Montary “appeared to be nervous,” saying he “had trembling hands and was stuttering while speaking.”
The passenger told detectives they were on their way to his home along 9th Avenue North, but that answer raised suspicions for police, who noted in their report that it was “not near the area of the stop.”
Their concern prompted detectives to allow a K-9 to open-air sniff, and the dog soon alerted
