Lawrenceburg Fire Department With heavy hearts, share the passing of Barry Don Kelley who dedicated 36 years of service to our community with bravery, leadership, and unwavering commitment.

Chief Kelley was more than a firefighter—he was a mentor, a friend, and a pillar of strength to all who knew him. His impact will be felt for generations, and his legacy of service will never be forgotten.

"Don Kelley, age 65, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Sunday, March 23, 2025, at North Alabama Medical Center in Florence, AL. He was a native of Lawrenceburg, TN, retired fire chief of the Lawrenceburg Fire Department, former instructor at the TN State Fire Academy, past member of the Lawrenceburg Rotary Club. He was also a member of the NRA, a member of Mars Hill Baptist Church, and an avid fisherman.

He was preceded in death by his father, L.V. Kelley; his sister, Sandy Glass; and his brother, Terry Wayne Kelley.

He is survived by his daughter, Kassie Kelley of Lawrenceburg, TN; his mother, Marjorie Inman Jones (Jimmy) of Lawrenceburg, TN; his loving companion, Pam Lipscomb of Lawrenceburg, TN; and his niece, Kelli Daniel of Lawrenceburg, TN.

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at Mars Hill Baptist Church. Funeral services will be conducted at Mars Hill Baptist Church at 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 26, 2025, with Jeff Overton officiating. Interment will follow at Lawrence County Memorial Gardens in Lawrenceburg, TN. The family requests memorials be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
