Officers with the Saint Joseph Police Department

 

Attempted to conduct a traffic stop in the area of Yocum Lane and Jackson Drive.

The vehicle officers were attempting to stop accelerated rapidly and began to flee. The pursuit continued north on Highway 43, east on South Old Military, and was finally ended at the end of Pace Road in Saint Joseph.

As the vehicle was being pursued, officers observed the passenger emptying bags of what appeared to me methamphetamine “ice” out of the passenger window. Once the pursuit was ended and occupants were placed into custody, officers were able to conduct a search of the vehicle. Inside the vehicle officers located torn baggies with methamphetamine residue and two baggies containing methamphetamine.

Officers also located more methamphetamine on the roadway at the intersection of South Old Military Road and Pace Road. A total of approximately five ounces of methamphetamine was recovered in all.The driver, Talia Michelle Hensley (39), of Leoma, TN, was charged with Possession of Controlled Substance Schedule II for Resale (Methamphetamine), Possession of Controlled Substance Schedule II (Suboxone), Driving While in Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Tampering With Evidence, Evading Arrest, and Driving on Revoked License. Hensley was transported to the Detention Center and is being held under a $44,000 bond.

The passenger, Steven Leon Dickson (48), of Lawrenceburg, TN, was charged with Possession of Controlled Substance Schedule II for Resale (Methamphetamine), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Tampering With Evidence, and Evading Arrest. Dickson was transported to the Detention Center and is being held under a $41,000 bond.

The Loretto Police Department and Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department assisted in the arrest
