Inmate Charged With Trying To Bring Drugs Into Jail
An inmate at the Lawrence County Detention Center garnered a new charge this week when he attempted to smuggle drugs into the facility.
Thomas Patrick White, 33, of Busby Road, Loretto was booked on the charge of introducing contraband into a penal facility early Tuesday.
According to Sheriff’s Department reports, a corrections officer noticed White acting in a peculiar manner when he was being placed into the general population. The officer reports discovering that White was attempting to conceal a green bottle containing Clonazepam and Apraziom pills, in his groin/underwear area.
White was booked on the drug charge shortly after 4:00 a.m. He is scheduled to answer the charge through Lawrence County General Sessions Court on April 1, 2011.
