Giles County Sheriff's Department Criminal Investigation Division look into a burglary that resulted in a arrest, and thousands of dollars worth of stolen property returned.

The Giles County Sheriff's Department issued the following press release on Wednesday:

"On March 6, 2021, the property owners of 8288 Elkton Pike reported a burglary in progress. Upon Deputies arrival, they observed an open door and noticed several pieces of property in the area. Also, there was a motorized bicycle and walkie talkie. Victim reports that he had noticed some property from the work shop missing the week prior.

The Criminal Investigation Division of the Giles County Sheriff’s Department started looking into the case. Investigators visited the home of Sean Christianson, 40, of Elkton, TN on March 9, 2021 where they recovered thousands of dollars worth of stolen property, returning it to the rightful owners. Christianson was taken into custody and charged with Conspiracy to Commit, Burglary, Theft of Property, and Manufacture/Delivery/Sale/Possession of Methamphetamines. Christianson is being held at the Giles County Jail without bond.

Robert Mitchell, 30 of Ardmore, AL was also implicated in the burglaries and taken into custody. Mitchell was charged with 5 counts of Burglary, 7 counts of Theft of Property, Fugitive From Justice, Vandalism, and 2 counts of Criminal Littering. Mitchell is also being held at the Giles County Jail without bond.
The Elkton Police Department is also prosecuting these individuals for their involvement in several burglaries in their jurisdiction.
