Loretto Woman Indicted In Tractor Death
After reviewing evidence presented in connection with a crash that claimed the life of a Leoma man, members of a Lawrence County Grand Jury opted to return an indictment against the other driver, charging her with vehicular homicide.
The crash, which occurred October 28, 2009 on U.S. Highway 43 South resulted in the death of seventy-seven-year-old Glynn Reavis Sandlin.
Tennessee Highway Patrol reports indicated that Sandlin was traveling southbound on a tractor, while the second driver, Michelle Glass Lyles, 28, of Loretto, was also traveling southbound; both in the far right lane. Lyles’ vehicle apparently struck the right rear tire of the tractor, resulting in the crash.
Sandlin was transported for medical attention, but died several days later.
Lyles will be required to answer the charge through Lawrence County Circuit Court.
