According to WAAY 31, on Wednesday, March 5th, a Fayetteville City Schools Driver’s Ed teacher and football coach was arrested and accused of rape.
According to District Attorney Robert J. Carter, the charges are the outcome of the Fayetteville Police’s investigation into a claim that a Fayetteville High School staff member had inappropriate contact with a student. Chris Edward Cagle, 55, of Toney was charged with four counts of Statutory Rape by an Authority Figure.
Cagle was placed into the Lincoln County Jail and released on a $40,000 bond. Cagle had resigned the prior week to the charges. He is scheduled to appear in court for arraignment on May 12th, 2025.
