Tennessee woman killed, man injured after head-on crash in Lauderdale County

LAUDERDALE COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) — A Tennessee woman was killed, and a man from Lauderdale County was injured after a head-on crash on Sunday.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said that Daria A. Smith, 33, of Nashville, Tennessee, was driving along County Road 47 near County Road 63 when her 2015 Nissan Rogue collided head-on with a 2018 Jeep Wrangler.

According to ALEA, Smith was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities said that the man who was injured was transported to North Alabama Medical Center in Florence for treatment.

The crash remains under investigation by ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division.
