SHEFFIELD, Ala. (WHNT) — The Sheffield Police Department says a man was arrested on multiple drug charges Wednesday.
Sheffield Police said 32-year-old Demittus Alfonzo Howard was charged with the following:
According to SPD, officers made a traffic stop of a vehicle driven by Howard on Cox Boulevard. Howard gave officers an expired insurance card, and after realizing it, asked if he could step out to provide a current one.
When Howard got out of the car, officers said he dropped a small bag that had illegal narcotics. Howard was then placed under arrest and a thorough search of the vehicle was conducted.
During the search, officers said they found:
Howard was taken to the Sheffield City Jail and then taken to the Colbert County Jail. He is held on a $350,000 bond.
