On February 22, 2026, at around 1:20 a.m., the Florence Police Department received a 911 call reporting shots fired near the intersection of Huntsville Road and Richards Street.

Upon arrival, officers located two individuals on scene suffering from gunshot wounds, along with several shell casings in the roadway.

Both individuals suffering from gunshot wounds were transported to the North Alabama Medical Center and later flown to Huntsville for further treatment.

Our Criminal Investigations Division has taken over the crime scene. Our detectives have information to believe that the shooting stemmed from an altercation between multiple parties.

They are currently interviewing involved parties and reviewing surveillance cameras in the area.
