Progress On Track For Move Of Lawrenceburg Administrative Offices
Lawrenceburg City Administrator Chris Shaffer told city leaders Thursday that everything is on track for the city’s administrative offices to move into their new home as anticipated.
Shaffer made the announcement during a meeting of the Lawrenceburg Board of Mayor and Council Thursday morning. He told council members that all administrative offices should be moved in and ready for business by the first week of March.
City Administration is moving to the recently-acquired SunTrust Bank building located at 25 Public Square. Shaffer said they are slowly making the transition, moving files and the likes as time allows.
The move had been coordinated to occur following the end of the current property tax season, which draws to a close on February 28th.
Once the administrative offices have moved, plans are to move offices of the Lawrenceburg Police Department into the administrative space, then move offices of the Lawrenceburg Fire Department to the current police department offices.
Once the move of the administrative offices is completed and offices are reopened, all city business will be conducted at the Public Square location.
Administrative offices will be closed on Monday, March 3 to complete the move.
