Lawrence County Fire and Rescue units were responding to a structure fire when firefighters were involved in an accident where they impacted a ditch.

 

Lawrence County Fire and Rescue units where dispatched on Wednesday around 2:00 p.m. to a structure fire that was endangering neighboring structures when some of the firefighters went off the roadway causing their emergency vehicle to impact a ditch.

Luckily all the firefighters that were involved in the accident were not injured where the driver was able continue along the ditch line to come to a stop preventing from a possible rollover which their crews are trained to do.

The emergency vehicle did substaine damage in the accident that has been reported, and the crash will be investigated through the Tennessee Highway Patrol.

Lawrence County Fire Rescue units along with mutual support from Lawrenceburg, and Loretto Fire Departments were able to handle the call where units protected neighboring structures by containing, and extinguishing the fire.
