The Lawrence County Public Library is closed after the facility received severe storm damage on Wednesday night.
According to the Lawrence County Emergency Management the public library along with surrounding homes received the most severe damage caused by the Wednesday night storms.
The Lawrence County Public Library released a statement following the impact of the severe storms where they stated that luckily no one was injured "thanks to Pam and Jennifer, our great staff on duty."
Due to the storms a tree behind the Library was knocked down which caused damage to nearby powerlines, along with damage to the library's roof, and fallen debris inside the facility.
The library is temporarily closed due to the severe damage, but the Loretto branch will be open to accommodate any patrons needing library services or tax forms where all forms from the Lawrenceburg location will be moved to the Loretto branch.
The Lawrence County Public Library is also requesting that all patrons please avoid coming to the Lawrenceburg location for the safety of everyone.
