Suspect Identified In Burglary Spree Targeting Lawrenceburg Businesses

Local law enforcement officials report that a suspect has been identified in connection with a burglary spree that targeted Lawrenceburg businesses during January.

Officials with the Lawrenceburg Police Department report that charges are being sought against the man, suspected of committing numerous burglaries inside the city limits. Tobby Randall Blackstock, age 35, was initially detained in connection with an unrelated parole violation on Thursday.

During a January 18 burglary, officers were called to Performance Feeds at 122 Fourth Street where a door had been pried open and the building entered. The person responsible took items with an estimated value of $200 and caused around $2,000 worth of damage.

On January 24 officers answered a call to Powell Marsh CPA, 713 North Military Avenue. There, the glass was broken out of a window. Some $1,133 worth of property was stolen and damages of around $250 incurred.

On January 27 police officers were called to investigate a burglary at IMI-TN Concrete at 2112 Helton Drive. There the burglar kicked out a window in order to gain entry. Damages were estimated at $50 while property stolen had an estimated value of $1,120.

Evidence gathered during the investigation led detectives to identify Blackstock as the primary suspect.

They report that he currently remains incarcerated on the violation of probation charge. Detectives plan to present evidence against him in the burglary cases to the next session of the Lawrence County Grand Jury.
