Residents, Officials Honored By County Commission
Members of the Lawrence County Board of Commissioners approved resolutions last week to honor several government officials and other residents.
During their January 28 meeting commissioners unanimously approved resolutions to request that Representative Vance Dennis and Senator Joey Hensley introduce legislation to name the Buffalo River Bridge at mile marker 10 on State Highway 240, the “George ‘Pappy’ Davis Memorial Bridge.” They will also request that a portion of State Highway 240 be named the “Vivian Shields Memorial Highway.”
In addition, the commission approved resolutions honoring Teresa Dunking for being named Register of the Year by the County Officials Association of Tennessee, Tanya White on passing the Certification Examination of Administrators of Elections, and the Solid Waste Regional Planning Committee for securing grant funds to create a four-county recycling hub in Lawrence County.
