Crews with Lawrence County EMS delivered a baby in the back of their ambulance on Sunday afternoon while enroute to the hospital.

Lawrence County EMS responded to a residence in the Saint Joseph area around 2:00 p.m. for a report of a woman in active labor.

The patient was being transported to Southern Tennessee Regional Health System in Lawrenceburg when crews stopped at Rick's Barbecue in Loretto, where the delivery occurred inside the ambulance.

Both the mother and the newborn are reported to be in good condition.
