More than 150 jobs to be eliminated from Lawrenceburg manufacturing facility

LAWRENCEBURG, Tenn. (WKRN) — One Lawrence County manufacturing facility has joined the list of Middle Tennessee corporations to see job loss in the coming months.

A spokesperson for Modine, which operates a plant in Lawrenceburg, told News 2 that 160 jobs would be eliminated at the facility in 2025.

“This difficult decision was made in response to well-publicized weakness in the broader agriculture and heavy equipment markets,” the spokesperson added in a statement. “This reduction only applies to this facility.”

The Modine Manufacturing Company, which works on a variety of products, announced a $1.2 million investment into Lawrence County in 2021; a press release from that announcement said Modine has had a manufacturing presence in the state for three decades.

Modine’s announcement comes days after other companies across Middle Tennessee have announced job loss, including:

• Bridgestone‘s La Vergne Truck and Bus Radial Tire Plant, which will go into effect July 31, 2025 and lead to the loss of about 700 jobs.
• Bargain Hunt‘s Antioch distribution center, which has already started terminating employees; about 300 workers are being affected.
• Perdue‘s Putnam County processing plant, which will cease production on March 28 and put more than 430 people out of a job.

It is unclear when Modine Manufacturing’s job cuts will begin.
