Crews Continue Power Restoration Efforts
Crews with Lawrence County Utility Systems have been joined in their efforts to restore power to customers throughout the county by out-of-town work crews.
Efforts put forth thus far have resulted in nearly two-thirds of those affected having their power restored. LUS officials indicate that approximately 600 households remained without power Sunday. At its peak, the power outage that resulted from a winter storm that passed through the area, left more than 1,500 customers without power.
Five out-of-town crews have now joined the local effort. Officials are hopeful that this will result in a significant decrease in the time customers must wait for their power to be restored.
