Pet Shot And Killed At Loretto Residence

   A Loretto resident requested that an investigation be conducted through the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department Tuesday after he found that his dog had been shot, resulting in his death.

   Deputies made their way to the victim’s Gieske Road residence just before 2:00 p.m. The fifty-one year old man reported that his 2 ½ year old German shepherd had been killed.

   The vicitm reported finding the dog lying in a wooded area adjacent to his yard. The dog had suffered what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the belly.

   The victim said he could think of no suspects in the crime. The investigation has been relinquished to detectives with the department’s Criminal Investigation Division.
