Woman Finds Discarded Meth Lab While Picking Up Trash
A resident of the Five Points area summoned law enforcement officials to the scene Saturday after she discovered a discarded meth lab while picking up trash.
The call to 1134 Rabbit Trail Road went out shortly after 5:00 p.m. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputies responding to the scene report the resident had been picking up trash outside her home when she made the discovery.
A plastic bag was found to contain a “salt-like substance” along with a plastic bottle that had clear plastic tubing attached.
Deputies confirmed that the items were the remnants of a meth lab. They stood by at the scene until a hazardous materials team arrived to conduct a clean up operation.
