Subject: Residential Structure Fire

Shortly after 1:00 AM on Jan 23,2026 Lawrence County Fire Rescue units were dispatched to a reported structure fire with possible entrapment in the Gandy Fire District. First arriving units found heavy fire conditions in the residence with extension to a vehicle. Firefighters also reported two residents with injuries as the result of the fire. The patients were able to escape the residence just prior to our arrival.

The patients were treated on scene by Lawrence County EMS before being transported to Southern Tennessee Regional Hospital in Lawrenceburg. A primary and secondary search of the residence for additional victims was conducted by fire personnel. The searches yielded no additional victims.

The fire occurred in a non hydranted area of the County. Firefighters had to rely on tanker support to provide water for suppression efforts. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.

Responding Stations include Stations Gandy, Leoma, Crossroads, West Point, and Henryville.
